Last Time on Traitors Gate

Summary: The group were sent to Qi by  Thorin under the instruction of Vaxxor’s Rache’s lead tactician, Sokar. They were given offocial robes and told to follow her instructions. The boat from the Sanctum took them  down the Wyr River to  Qi. Sokar briefed them on the way: they were to steal book of folk tales from Logan Kray, the leader of the third biggest criminal faction in Qi for Magistrix Lyss. Sokar went to gather rumours about the Kray’s and their arranged marriage to the Marish Clan as they wished to fortify their standing against a man named Danton Scalar, the leader of the largest criminal faction. Sokar encountered an old battle scarred woman who knew she was from House Filadoxis and told that her family was not welcome here and if she saw Sokar again, she would kill her.

The others went to the meeting spot, not really knowing what to do. Mason met an old acquaintance from when he was living in the city who warned him of the dangers of the man named Baron. Stibbons unsuccessfully tried to convert the people of Qi to his faith. First the Aeon Priests; whose security creatures, the Zhev, stopped him as he tried to gain entry to The Durkhal. After being turned away, he returned to the park and attempted on the park goers, who all saw his madness materialise in front of them, scaring them off and alerting the others to where he had disappeared to and causing them intellect damage and for Winston to stumble backwards, setting of a small explosion. Sokar returned back to the park with new information but her symbiot demanded she play a game of catch before she would be allowed to leave the park.

The group were told that Tahmas Marish, the groom to be, would hang out in a cafe near the University of Qi. Outside the cafe, Stibbons received a message from his god, warning him that Mason was a murderer. Mason himself found a shrine dedicated to his ‘missing’ sister Leah before Stibbon’s madness manifested again, sending the crowd around them into a frenzy of panic, with Mason pulled out of the confusion by his ‘Uncle’.


Hour 1

  • Winston causes all kinds of injuries thanks to running into small children, burley men, and the elderly. A massive explosion erupts from the Nano cloud behind Winston.
  • Sokar completely disappears during all the chaos.
  • During the explosion it is discovered that the entire store front of the cafe has been destroyed and the building is on the verge of collapse with people inside.
    • Winston saves a child in the wreckage and the rest of the people make it out alive except for the child’s mother who takes a beam to the chest killing her instantly. One of those her rescued was Tahmas.

Hour 2

  • Fitz and Mason go to look for Mason’s ‘Uncle’ who was lost (blown clean off his feat and flung far) in the chaos of the explosion.
  • They find Mason’s ‘Uncle’crumbled up, not heavily injured but definitely unconscious being poked by three old women with a walking stick who Fitz aggravates.
  • Fitz drags the ‘Uncle’ onto a cart she has stolen. Her and Mason both decide to pull the cart back to the explosion site.
  • Winston and Stibbons talk to the Zhev ,as the Zhev investigate the explosion, initially blaming Tahmas. Winston stepped in to help and was accused himself. The old woman returned blaming the explosion on Sokar and pointing the Zhev in one direction. Stibbons blames Mason and tells the Zhev another. The Zhev then split up.
  •  Team Fitzon take the cart and accidentally hit an old woman coming to harass them  as they reverse away from the Zhev cornered off area.
  • Fitz is able to help the lady with assistance from Bitz, her Shamu, before they both making their way from the explosion to avoid the Zhev and back to the meeting place, the park.

Hour 3

  • Team Stibbero and Tahmas took the small girl to the Durkhal to be under the care of the Aeon Priests.
  • Half way through pulling the cart, Fitz gives up pulling as she can feel Mason putting enough effort in for her as well, much to the annoyance of Mason.
  • Winston converses with an Aeon Priest at the door who takes in the girl. She states that they have stopped taking in children after the ‘incident’ involving the dead talking. Winston figures out this may be Mason. At the mention of his name, the Priest dropped her papers, gives Winston a deathly stare and slams the door.
  • Team Stibbero convinces Tahmas that their is a triage area in the park, a while away from the explosion site and they should go get checked out. Tahmas is convinced and leaves with them. Tahmas offers to take them to his Mother’s healer, but they go to the park instead.
  • Everyone slowly all makes their way to the park.
  • Tahmas see’s Team Fitzon carrying the unconscious Uncle in the cart and runs over, alarmed at the situation.
  • The group meets up and find out that Uncle Jack is everyone’s ‘uncle’ to those who are in need. Tahmas gets into a debate with Mason over whose ‘Uncle’ he is and things turn sour quickly after Mason rightfully outs Winston as the bomber and not just Tahmas’ savoir.
  • While they are debating Fitz erases Tahmas’s memory to the point where he arrived at the park and the situation is rectified.
  • Stibbons then uses a fungal cypher with help from the voices in his head that causes everyone to suffer with hallucinations as a giant shroom sprouts up in-between them, dusting them with toxic spores.
  • Tahmas see’s his mother in his delusion and runs off. Winston is apparently unaffected along with Stibbons. Fitz sees a tribe of people who she has murdered in the name of the Explorer’s Guild and Mason see’s the vision of his sister, not an unusual occurrence (he’s repressed most of his memories about her) but instead of her being friendly shes hostile and violent towards him.

Last Time on Traitors Gate

 Mason, Fitz and Mr. Stibbons meet up to discuss some business with the Silver Palm. They were instructed to meet Orion. After a discussion with Margret and some fighting with doors, they finally made it to his personal quarters. He was given the message from the Silver Palm and then powered down. Quest Complete

Summary


Hour 1

  • Fitz, Mason and Stibbons are called in to have a chat with Thorin about their discovery of notes in Orion’s office.
  • They were then introduced to Sokar, tactician for Vaxxor’s Rache
  • Lola, Thorin’s granddaughter, is sent to fetch Winston for a meeting with the rest of the group:
    • He discovers his nickname is 100 Feet, due to his reputation to accidentally endager lives within 100 feet, and it’s shouted as a warning to people to keep that distance from him.
    • He’s then told to give Lola a 5 minute head start, but he doesn’t listen and runs out of his shack/home, eventually falling over and damaging his hamstring as he makes his way to the gathering place.
  • They are told where to meet up, on the docks of Wyr river and given cloaks with Convergence symbol on it.
  • The group then spends the next 3 nights and 12 hours on a ship while travelling to Qi.
  • Sokar briefs the group on the assignment:
    • Logan Kray is currently in possession of a book in which they must locate and return to the Convergence for research.
    • Book of fairytales and myths that has been on the Black Market, this task has been given to the group by a Magictrix Lyss.
    • The book is of importance and power to those that understand it.

Hour 2

  • They Arrive in Qi at the Moon Bay at around 5am.
  • They encounter a female street performer who sets herself ablaze in purple flames as part of her act.
  • The party splits for a bit to allow for Sokar to gathers rumors.
    • Logan’s daughter is named Willow and arranged to marry Tahmas
    • Dietha Marhe’s son, Tahmas, is not in love with Willow
    • There’s a little old lady who sells odd bits and bobs without any payment
  • The others, bar a now missing Stibbons, meet with some one of Mason’s old contacts  from when he used to live in the city.
    • Mason is in danger
    • Tahmas
      • Womanizer
      • Next in line for the head of the family
      • Likes to hang out at a cafe by the fountain to the north west of the university. AKA. hipster cafe
  • Stibbons decides to go to the building of the Aeon Priests and protest against their “false” god. He’s greeted by creatures he had never seen before and is  refused entry and subsequently told to leave
  • Sokar meets with the little old lady and donates some items to her ‘charity’.
    • The woman seems to recognise Sokar and looks though a book  by the Morianna family on genealogy.

Hour 3

  • Sokar and the old lady have some disagreements
    • Sokar is identified as a member of house Filadoxis, a family known to the old woman.
    • The old woman tells Sokar to leave as soon as she is done here, if not quicker.
    • She is threatened with death by the old woman, who is now noticblly well built, battle scarred and a vertan of warfare.
    • They part ways, with the death threat reiterated.
  • The rest of the group realize they have forgotten Stibbons and have to go and find him. They followed the sound of peaching about a unknown god and and a growning audience. In the center of the gathering is Stibbons, using his illusions to help convert his audience
    • The group soon sees a weird blob made of people and other things generated by Stibbons as madness takes hold of him. Causing his audience to scatter in dismay.
    • In shock Winston tumbles back causing an explosion damaging everyone in a 10 foot radius
  • Sokar forces the group plays a small game of catch with a children’s ball she’s bought on the way back, without explaining why. She has been forced to by her symbiot.
  • After Sokar is satisfied they head towards the cafe where Tahmas has been known to frequent.
  • Along the way they find a small shrine dedicated to Mason’s sister, who is still thought of as missing
  • Mason is attacked by a random passerby and chaos ensues. – QUEST INCOMPLETE

Last Time on Traitors Gate

Applications were accepted and Fitz and Winston are separated into two separate rooms and interviewed by some high ranking members of the Convergence. Eventually after some lines of questioning they are left alone to care for a randomly spawned cat. After a “few” hours they are finally told they’ve been accepted and should wait in their quarters for someone to collect them.

Summary


Hour 1

  • Given first quest which was an envelope with a cryptic message. Contained a silver coin and a map marked with the meeting location
  • Margret makes her sandwhichy return
  • Given a mission to track down an Oryan.
    • Not human but a battlesuit and told to go talk to his assistant
    • Found there is power fluctuation going on in the area of the Convergence

Hour 2

  • Summon “The Butler” only to talk receive a talking pyramid with an attitude
  • Mr. Stibbons runs off somewhere  leaving the rest of the party to have to find him
  • Fitz is attacked by a biomechanical tentacle monstrosity that came from inside the grates
  • Found Mr. Stibbons in the corner of a dark corridor. Fitz sees that the walls, celing and floor is covered in a dripping tar substance. Mason canot see this.
  • Mason tries to do some psycosurgery to calm Stibbons down. Forcing his mental state back to reality.
  • Found Jethro cleaning up the tentacle monster and he leads them to a back corridor under the misconception they are there for another reason.
  • He leaves to report a security breach caused by the activation of ‘The Butler’ leaving the group to their own devices.
  • They try to break into a room with restricted access and are discovered by Jethro.
  • He gets his memories erased by Fitz and goes to checkon security and goes to report it a second time.
  • After following him back into the area Fitz decides to kick a glass door down to get the attnetion of  Jethro who is about discover he has already sent a report, and activates the security sequence putting an outline of a faintly glowing orange hexagon at her feet.

Hour 3

  • Jethro nearly discovers that he has already reported the security breach.
  • Mr. Stibbons distracts him with an illusion and gets Jethro to contact Orion.
  • They are then leadto a storage area and made to wait.
  • They eventually deliver  the items to Orion and he unexpectadly decides to power down.
  • Before leaving they find paperwork signed by Vaxxor in amoungst Orion’s own research

Cult

War for the Overworld Cultist

There are six departments assigned to each Sanctum College. The Empty Sanctum has the following:

Automata, Artificial Intelligence, Bio-Augmentation, Bio-Chemistry, Bio-Necrotics and The University of Doors Enclave.

Each department has three convergence members as their faculty, with two declared nemesis (those with intersecting quest chains).

Currently available is the University of Doors Enclave with the following faculty members:

Magister A. Hinklebottom

Magister Amburn

Magestrix Lyss

These Magisters and Magestrix, play an important role, not just as quest givers and a focal point for narrative, they also a lodologocial mechanism. Players can technically ‘win’ this campaign under the following conditions:

Convergence Nomination:

  • Players initially nominated
  • Players received 9 additional nominations

Revenge Win:

  • A murderer has been identified
  • The suspect is killed
  • Players must not be suspected, any who are not ‘win’

How to get Nominated 

  • To be nominated players must complete four quests.
  • In essence each nomination is worth four quests, each quest affects standing with that department and its ‘rival’.
  • When a quest is completed, standing is raised in one, and lowered in another. This can be altered by completing quests for that department, ‘ally’ departments and  then spending 4 XP per player or completing a quest from a guild NPC related to the relevant department.
  • Rewards for each level of quest completion can be lost and gained apart from physical items which can only be rewarded once.
  • When four quests are completed, the standing with that NPC cannot decrease, regardless of any other factors.
  • This must be repeated a total of 10 times to qualify for the revenge win condition.
